House Hot, A/C guy say's A/C working fine. Set Thermo on 68* it is 80* inside, Any ideas?
I have a 1600sqft. house newer a/c (2 1/2 ton), two differant a/c companies say unit is working fine. Why is my house 80-82* inside (90-93* outside @ time)? The thermostat is set to 68*. I am already leaving the doors in the house open to all rooms and the filter is clean also the outside unit is clear of blockage and debris. The house will cool to 68* overnight but, at about 10 a.m. it starts climbing up in temperature.

Sounds like you need a lot more insulation as it is not holding temperature. Put more in the attic, put in an attic fan (will lower attic temperature from 150 to about 90), make sure all the windows are sealed and recaulk if necessary, if you have a fireplace close the flue. Is the house in full sun? You might consider planting some shade trees for both the house and the A/C unit. Your size house with your size compressor should have a 15 degree drop.

MACHE is right !
Use your ceiling fans !|||THERE IS LITTLE DOUBT your insulation is deficient. The least cost and biggest pay back is in your attic. Lay in about a foot of insulation. Be careful not to block your soffit vents. A properly insulated ceiling beneath the attic should not feel any warmer to your touch than the room itself.
